For a small skincare brand from Foxford, Co. Mayo, seeing Sláinte recognised alongside so many wonderful Irish businesses is something we are genuinely proud of.

Why Sustainability Matters to Sláinte

From the very beginning, we wanted sustainability to be part of how we built Sláinte — not simply something added to our story afterwards.

Our skincare is inspired by the natural resources of Ireland's west coast, with Irish sea moss at the heart of our formulations. We work with sea moss that is responsibly and sustainably harvested, allowing us to make use of a remarkable natural resource while respecting the coastal environment from which it comes.

We also consider sustainability throughout our wider business, from the ingredients we select to our packaging and production choices. As a growing business, we know there is always more we can learn and improve, and we continue to look at ways to make thoughtful decisions as Sláinte evolves.

For us, sustainability is about being conscious of what we use, where it comes from and how we can build a business that respects the environment around us.

Skin Health at the Heart of What We Do

While sustainability is an important part of our story, it is not the only reason we created Sláinte.

At the heart of the brand is skin health.

We believe skincare should be about caring for your skin rather than chasing unrealistic beauty standards. Our aim is to create thoughtfully formulated skincare that helps people feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.

Irish sea moss has always been central to that vision. It connects our products to the Atlantic coastline and to the natural landscape that surrounds us here in the west of Ireland.

That connection to place is something we are incredibly proud of.

From Foxford to the Irish Made Awards

Sláinte began as a small Irish skincare business, and the journey since then has brought us further than I could have imagined.

We have grown our network of Irish stockists, introduced our products to customers at home and internationally, and continued to develop Sláinte while staying true to the values that started it all.

Being shortlisted for the Irish Made Awards is particularly special because the awards celebrate Irish businesses that are making, creating and building here in Ireland.

To see Sláinte Sea Moss Skincare named in Irish Country Living as a Sustainability finalist is a lovely reminder of just how far this little brand from Foxford has come.
